Tianjin Travel: When Past Meets Present

In June 2010, I had the opportunity to journey to Tianjin, sparking a deep fascination within me for how the ancient and modern can harmoniously coexist.

The first captured image is of a majestic dragon, a mythical and benevolent symbol in China. This detail from an ancient pot, the exact origin of which still eludes me, perfectly illustrates the rich history and the deep reverence Chinese people hold for their cultural heritage. Is it bronze? Copper? The golden coppery metal still piques curiosity.

The second photo takes us to a tranquil park, where bonsai-like shrubs stand alongside a building of traditional Chinese architecture, with its red wooden pillars and intricately detailed roofs. Yet, the stark contrast lies in the modern skyscraper looming in the background, a reminder that Tianjin is a city in flux.

Finally, the third shot, a symbol reminiscent of fire or the sun, speaks to spirituality, energy, and the intimate bond between man and nature.

Every journey tells a story, and every image is a chapter of that narrative. Tianjin, with its contrasts and beauty, gifted me a visual tale I was eager to share.
